Miss Laura Crick
PhD Student

I undertook my first degree at Durham University, gaining a Natural Sciences BSc in Chemistry and Earth Sciences. Following this I studied for an MSc in Geochemistry here in St Andrews. Throughout my studies I have focussed predominantly on low temperature environmental systems using various approaches including modelling and experimental methods such as isotopic analysis.

This combination of experience has lead to my current PhD project studying the sulphur chemistry of volcanic eruptions. During my research I hope to increase understanding of the atmospheric chemistry of sulphur and it’s climatic impacts using a combination of photochemical plume modelling and measurements of mass-independent sulphur isotope fractionation.
